“i opened myself to the gentle indifference of the world.” this book cover references detachment from societal norms and the loss of meaning in life. the imagery is created by layering concave and convex lenses of varying thicknesses, photographed from different perspectives to capture distortions that symbolize disconnection from reality. the texture and effects are created by hand; they are original photographs, not digital effects. the photographs are then adjusted and combined digitally to complete the final image.
